The Future of Journalism Education in the World (with focus on Asia Pacific) is a post-conference event of the 28th AMIC Annual Conference. This is scheduled on 14 December 2021. It is organized by AMIC, the Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC) and the World Journalism Education Council (WJEC) with support from UNESCO.

The post-conference forum will present the highlights of the recently completed study by WJEC, Journalistic Roles, Values and Qualifications in the 21st Century: How Journalism Educators Across the Globe View the Future of a Profession in Transition. Emphasis will be on results of the survey from Asia-Pacific countries.

 

 WJEC vice chairman Dr. Nico Drok will present the research findings, to be followed by reactions from leading Asian journalism educators:

Dr. B.P. Sanjay (Manipal Institute of Communication),

Prof. Ying Chan (University of Hong Kong), and

Prof. Danilo Arao (University of the Philippines-Diliman). 

The reactions may focus on analysis and interpretation of the findings from  regional and country perspectives and proposed recommendations to Asian journalism schools and associations. There will be an  open forum.
